Pasta and Spaghetti Packing Machines
Short-cut pasta such as penne, fusilli and macaroni generally flows well through a multihead weigher. Long pasta such as spaghetti requires controlled alignment and a discharge path matched to the product length. Smart Weigh combines linear or multihead weighing equipment with VFFS and premade pouch packing machines. Feeder channels, hopper openings, discharge chutes and drop heights are configured around the pasta shape, target weight and bag format.

Common Pasta and Spaghetti Packaging Challenges
Pasta packaging equipment must deliver accurate portions without tangling long products, breaking brittle pieces or interfering with the bag seal.
Long Product Feeding
Spaghetti can overlap or bridge inside standard feeders and chutes. Dedicated feeding channels and synchronized discharge gates keep long pieces moving in a controlled direction.
Pasta Breakage
Dry pasta may crack under aggressive vibration or excessive drop height. Gentle feeding and shorter discharge paths reduce chipped and broken pieces.
Different Pasta Shapes
Penne, macaroni and fusilli have different bulk densities and feeding behavior. Weight-based filling and stored product recipes maintain more consistent portions between SKUs.
Product in the Seal
Long pieces or broken fragments can remain near the top of the bag and enter the sealing jaws. A matched forming tube and synchronized discharge timing keep the sealing area clearer.
